Believing in a Mutual Dream

My dream is to help build a wonderful world with access to clean air and water, healthy food, good education, health care, and, of course, a place free from war and violence. If these basic needs were guaranteed, we could use our energy to realize our dreams.

As a child, I thought the world was full of forests, animals, and flowers. My country has various ecosystems, from rainforests in the north to glaciers in the south. On weekends, my family would travel to Paraná Delta, where I would climb trees and collect flowers. But as I grew up,

I realized that those places were in danger, and my love for nature inspired me to follow environmental issues. In high school, I participated in Model UN simulations. I dreamed that one day I could tell the world we need to stop the destruction and create a better place.

In 2015, a miracle. I got to attend the UNESCO Youth Forum in Paris. There, I met and had amazing conversations with extraordinary youth from around the world who believed that economic development was impossible without environmental protection. At the end of the forum, I was elected to represent youth at the UN Climate Change Conference (COP21) in just a few months. This was the conference where the historic Paris Agreement was signed. My dream of participating in the real UN had come true!

A group of Argentinean colleagues I met at the conference and I founded Sustentabilidad Sin Fronteras. Our goal was to inspire Argentinean people to see that a different world was possible and that they could make a change. Now, we are more than 20 young professionals working on national projects to raise awareness and reduce the impacts of climate change.

All of our team wants a safe, equitable, and sustainable world. We were allowed to dream and we work for it.
