Achieving health equity acting without borders and cultivating global citizenship

“Imagine a world where young people collaborate among continents on changemaking ideas”
That is impossible and out of the world according to many. That is an opportunity to look beyond the borders, and explore the horizons.
An internet connection, passion and a growth mindset. These were the first ingredients needed for the first step of my Dream. I was born in a multi-cultural setting, where Persian and Italian perspectives merged in me. I experienced both wealthy environments and developing realities like Iran long affected by international sanctions. This helped me to have a global perspective. At the age of 16, my life has changed drastically after years of big struggles at high school that did not stimulate me as a human being. I failed most classes and I was considered not prepared – I lost the meaning of that.
In that period, I decided to take action on the fight of heart diseases in my community since it affected my loved ones directly. “What would you do in front of a person that had a heart failure”? I couldn’t respond, and help in that. Health information is not easily accessible on the internet and unreliable.
I wanted to explore the root causes and I co-founded Aid You, an international organization, with an Ugandan peer. Yes, we were an intercontinental remote team with one mission– it was literally the celebration of global perspective and youth collaboration. The aim of this organization is to scale down deaths caused by heart failures trough awareness and technology on a scale.
I started to surround myself with a stimulating environment by joining global innovation competitions. In 2019 I joined the SDG Council in the UAE, where I engaged with governments, UN and thinkers to express the power of young people raising a youth investment fund. This enabled me to connect with high-profile individuals cultivating meaningful collaborations. I started to wander around EU and Middle East to learn from innovation ecosystems, with the aim to better support the future of incoming changemakers in Italy and beyond.
