For the most part of my life, I would be the youngest person in the room. As a single child, I would listen to the conversations of the adults and ponder upon persisting individual and social problems seen by many adults as unsolvable. I dreamed of a world in which people nurtured the hope, curiosity, and optimism they had when younger but somehow lost in the ordinary of everyday life.
Yet, I struggled to find my own voice and ways in which I could make this dream a reality. Fortunately, I had my turning point at the age of 25 when I attended a youth leadership event, One Young World Summit in Bogota, Colombia. Among thousands of young activists and messengers of hope, I understood that my life’s purpose is to inspire the transformational power of youth to take action in creating a more equal, empathetic, and sustainable world.
In my professional journey, I gained experience in some of the largest organizations in the FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) and NGO sectors, and had the privilege to lead teams of active young leaders to drive change within their organizations. The many projects I led, be it sustainable business strategies development or collaboration with startups, proved the power of like-minded young individuals inspiring change, and energized senior leadership to make more courageous decisions.
Now, I continue to share the courage to challenge the status quo and find the energy to build a fairer world with the young leaders in organizations like One Young World, Global Shapers, The Climate Reality Project or V4SDG. Being part of these communities fills me with great hope that a new generation of responsible leaders is already in the making.
