Health and Education, right or privilege?

My name is Paola Esparza, a young woman with hunger and thirst for struggle, I was born in the Ecuadorian Amazon in the city of Zamora in southern Ecuador, since I can remember I have seen the inequality from the closest, Amazonian youth lack quality education because in my city there is no university, we do not have a third level hospital that is suitable for the care of people, but there is only an old infrastructure made more than 50 years ago.
As a young person I cannot simply close my eyes and do nothing, on the contrary, I believe that we young people have the courage and strength to achieve any purpose. In 2017 I was awarded a scholarship in the United States as a young ambassador where I created my project called “Sueño de Letras” which consists of strengthening the habit of reading and making books accessible to children of limited economic resources, since I have always believed that books are the most powerful weapon we have, they inspire us and give us the right to dream.
Since I was a child I have seen how many people in my city have died for lack of resources in hospitals, for lack of professionals in the area of health, which is why I decided to study medicine, so that through my knowledge I can help people who need it most, it is necessary to teach for example first aid to families living in rural areas, hygiene techniques, among other instructions that can save lives. Is it possible to dream? Of course it is possible! I dream of a world full of children who can go to school and have access to many books, I dream that young people have the opportunity to attend college without having to migrate to larger cities because we do not have the economic resources to do so, I dream for the right to a decent life with quality health, I dream that my parents, grandparents, friends, neighbors, my future children and I have the opportunity to live in a country that gives us security and quality of life.
I am willing to never give up and dream, dream until someday the dream that I have every day in my head becomes a reality.
