I was raised in a small mining town of Chingola. Chingola was always what I knew until I travelled to Botswana. My mother used to work in Botswana for a period of years. My upbringing made me realize the importance of loving and serving others. I am now passionate about creating a positive impact in the world. I had this idea of what life abroad was like, you can’t know what something is like until you experience it. My deep passion for traveling with a purpose involved attending global events with young Changemakers or immerse in a new culture with a language course and volunteering.
I have a dream of seeing young people from disadvantage background have access to innovative education and global opportunities. To have the opportunity to interact with people from various countries around the world within Zambia. To have the resources and mentorship to grow innovation solutions to environmental & social issues in Zambia in collaboration with people across the world. Young people who are poor are unable to obtain and learn what is needed to save, protect or develop them. Poverty creates greed, corruption and violence because it can lead to fighting for wealth because they want resources and needs that they don’t have. I believe that all the other 16 Sustainable Development Goals are centred on poverty: For instance Poor people can’t afford renewable energy or quality education, can’t fight hunger, have sustainable infrastructure, afford a lawyer for justice, clean water or care about life of animals on land or water and many other opportunities.
As a youth empowerment activist. I try to break limits set in my life from background by doing things that can inspire others. Using social media and writing in a positive way. I have written articles with Voices of Youth, Biopage and Epoch Times. that can bring hope & empower young people. I hope to start a non profit organization that can help fund young people to start social businesses, travel to global events and do volunteer programs. as way of work-based experience. To able to not only volunteer in their country but to be funded to volunteer across Africa & the world. In this way the young people can be exposed to different languages, cultures and way of life to push their mind-set and perceptive. To help fuel their creative ideas in their careers or businesses.
