Trust Your Friends and Seize Your Chance!

I was born into a poor family. A family where both of my parents are uneducated and know little to nothing about education opportunities. Out of four siblings, I was the only one who attained higher education.

I was privileged to attain a university education. Although having been granted such an opportunity, it was very hard for me to learn in a smooth way as my parents couldn’t afford to pay the tuition fees or provide other necessities. My dream of accomplished studies became dismayed. Nevertheless, as a passionate young man, I strived to look for support. With the help of friends from foreign countries I connected with on LinkedIn and other channels, I gained valuable information, especially about relationship building. My hard work yielded tremendous results as I was granted a scholarship. This was achieved upon having knowledge of where and how to look for opportunities.

That is why I believe it is imperative to create a world where access to information is vital and prioritized. My family members are very happy as now they can see the potential opportunities coming my way and support every step I take in education matters.

In many developing countries, most youths lack access to information about opportunities. This is due to poor or few hubs where these youths can get such valuable information. We must recognize this and improve access to information and opportunities in various sectors, including health, agriculture, and entrepreneurship.

I have a dream of creating a platform where youths can turn their dreams into reality through equal and fair access to global opportunities both for career and professional development. Eventually, I want to turn this platform into a large consultation company. This will allow these youths to amass vibrant skills which will help them access jobs easily, thereby enabling a society where decent work is created. It will also help reduce the financial burdens that hinder youths as they pursue their dreams in life.

The main message I share with the youth is, “It’s about belief.” They have to believe in themselves, cherish their dreams, be courageous, and be committed to building genuine relationships with different people across the globe. And they should always keep an eye on whatever opportunity they come across.
