My dream is to give children an inspiring and transformative education that allows them to acquire knowledge, skills and abilities in order to have access to better opportunities in the future.
My story is different … since I was a little girl I could have access to a quality education and through the years I had opportunities that enhanced my interests and abilities.
When I was 17 years old I had the opportunity to participate in a science camp, the National Youth Science Camp where I found a whole new world of opportunities. Nevertheless, not all of us have the same chances. But, when you have the opportunity, you should try to make it available for others too. Inequality is a factor that randomly affects all individuals. Despite all the hard work you put in the task, trying to get a better education or a better chance for a brighter future, sometimes it is not enough. Sometimes the reasons are based on economic resources or cultural traditions. Beyond any reason among this problem there are also people who cannot even aim to the opportunity of education itself. Beyond just having an education, it should be an opportunity for everyone to have a quality education. I understand quality education as inspiring and transformative because it will allow us to understand global problems and with knowledge, solutions can be proposed to change our realities. Education transforms realities…lives and just as it did with me if it is in my hands to be able to do something I want to help to transform lives.
I think I am already doing it, I am working on my dream to transform lives through a quality education. That’s why I founded “Peque Innova” which is an organization where we work in several program-oriented series of workshops in a wide array of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics) fields, aimed at stimulating curiosity, creativity and scientific research. However, there are some dreams that to be fulfilled must also be the dreams of a team and that’s why for two years Peque Innova is our dream. More than five thousand children had the opportunity to participate in our education program and we will continue working not only for the Bolivian children but also for the children of the world because if we want to transform our reality it is up to our generation to empower the next generation!
