“Hoping for the equity among the Nepalese”
I have a dream to see all the Nepalese living a life of equity and prosperity based on education, gender.
I was born in a middle-class family where I had to walk a couple of hours to quench my thirst for both, drinking water and primary education. Living in the hills, steep landscape and snow clad mountains nearby was not an easy job. My mother had to work all the households, raise the cattle, tear the lands, sow, reap and harvest yet deprived of the adequate food production due to inadequate infrastructures regarding the agriculture.
The patriarchal society would not let her dry the sweat since the daughters-in-law were treated as machines for working and producing babies. My mother shed tears on the side of a river remembering my father who was away for employment. Educating women was a crime as they were regarded as stuff that would eventually be handed over to others’ family and they would have to invest in dowry as well.
The scenario was even worse due to insufficient health facility due to geographical inaccessibility which compelled women to deliver babies at their homes, I still get goosebumps imagining the scenario. So, my dream regarding education, equity, and justice to the women of Nepal never let me sleep. I am afraid of sleeping in case, I would dream of a similar Nightmare.
Since then, I have always worked for the sake of gender equity, equal education, and opportunities for women of Nepal and the scenario is steadily improving. I have been striving to see Nepal with beautiful mountains smiling and beautiful people, men and women smiling too.
“The mother nature never discriminates based on gender, so, why we people? This is what I always have been emphasizing whenever I participate in any social works and events as well, after all, that is what I have been dreaming of since a child. This book would inspire me, share my dream to the world, and step up a bit close to pursuing my dream come true. My dream book is Bhagwata Geeta, that guides in every step of life, and now I would like to add this book as my second Bhagwata Geeta as it showcases the hundreds of dreams and would give a great learning out of it.
