Unfairness and disparities on the basis of resources, wealth, gender, and education have partitioned the world we live in today. I am against the concept of different worlds for different people, and it is my dream to see one world for all and all for one world.
Due to political and regional constraints, I grew up in three different countries with the persistent reminder of a refugee’s lack of belonging. Despite being uprooted from my motherland, my roots were never disengaged from my patriotic identity. Regardless, I was lucky enough to have been presented with opportunities unimaginable for the majority of my compatriots. Such advantages come with a price tag of responsibility to dissolve entitlement, and an obligation to provide matched opportunities for the less fortunate. Disparities in opportunities are depriving hundreds of millions of people from living the life they deserve. Like anyone else in the world, I know that there are millions of others who are not as privileged, despite their talent and passion for doing well in life. Their leaps of courage to define their dreams are blocked due to the circumstances they were born into, not because of their lack of compassion, effort, or hard work. Significant disparities in education still exist because the reality is that the amount of knowledge one can receive is proportional to their economic power. In all cultures and religious texts, this defines injustice.
As a first step to address this challenge, I used Instagram to initiate Bloom, a knowledge-sharing platform aimed to empower communities by ensuring collaboration and access to knowledge. Its guiding principle is to create a collective source of knowledge and contribute to a socially empowered society. The ultimate goal is to create an eternal cycle of knowledge. That will move us forward toward a world where everyone can play their part in creating an equal and empowered society.
I strive for a world without disparities that offers everyone equal opportunities, and each day my commitment intensifies to help create a better future for the helpless. My innate human instincts will forever resist the concept of different worlds for different people, and it is my dream to see one world for all and all for one world.
