So far, I’ve only spent 23 years on Planet Earth but I’ve got to see, experience and hear of so many sad issues and happenings in our dear world. From terrorist attacks to abduction, from natural disasters to hunger, from unemployment to climate change, from poverty to inequalities – these feel like an infinity war!
Isn’t it heartbreaking that the very problems affecting us can be fixed or in the least reduced by us? As much as I’d have loved to be the savior of the world, I know it is certainly impossible! And that’s because no one can do it alone. We all need to come in unity as we know that little drops of water are what make an ocean.
There is so much going on already and as much as we all have individual battles to fight, we can still make other people’s lives better and more bearable. Little acts of kindness and love really go a long way. Love is so deep: it is forgiveness. it is understanding. it is peace. it is growth. it is everything needed to keep the world together. It is not easy but it is so important!
We need to sit back, honestly talk to ourselves, know where we are lacking as individuals and commit to becoming better people. Only then can we now make effective change on a larger scale. Hate is too much to handle. they say time heals all wounds but believe me, hate leaves scars that may never heal. It’s up to us to make amends and refrain from making the same mistakes of the past. Generations to come are counting on us. our actions will make a big difference – good or bad. You choose, we choose. Can we please not fail humanity again?
I write this because despite the pain and grief in my heart, I am still very positive and hopeful that indeed, the world can be better. There is good in every person and if we focus on that, magic will happen. I am hopeful that we can smile again and live in unity, irrespective of our differences because they make us beautiful. they make us unique. We are all we need to save the day. me and you.
