Education for all, in the most possible creative way

I was raised in a very reading environment. My parents taught me how to read and enjoy the comic books, and after many editions of them, I started to get immersed in youth literature and discovered a great passion for writing.
At the age of 9, I took part in reading clubs at school, where each student made a poster about the chosen book. I remember some children who had never read an entire book and, on each page, their eyes shined with admiration. The writing was difficult for most kids due to incomplete literacy and the practice of the reading club was essential for the personal and educational development of the children.
It was no different at the University. In that environment, in the midst of essays and scientific articles to develop, I realized that a large part of the student body struggles to reconcile academic learning and putting into words what they learn. Brazil has low educational levels and in all that time I wondered how I could contribute to enhance education.
I joined, then, the editorial board of the undergraduate journal “O Cosmopolítico”, whose purpose is to spread and democratize scientific knowledge. In 2019 I had the opportunity to become a scientific editor of this journal, helping my colleagues to develop their ability to present ideas. It has been a great learning experience, and I realized how much we need partnership. Many works of fiction are used as a reference for articles, enabling the personal universe of each student to enrich what was acquired in the research. Each publication inspires confidence in the editors, strengthens our objective and encourages us to face new challenges.
I learned the concept of leadership as a service to others, and in this sense, young people are already leaders before taking on high positions in government or institutions. Our dedicated day-to-day service is what strengthens our ties and motivates the community to develop. Initiatives like the ones I mentioned give me hope for a future in which the standard norm of the language is not exclusive and every form of knowledge is accessible to people. There is no hierarchy in knowledge and they all contribute to the peculiarity of each individual in their circumstances. The passion for writing has brought me here. What’s your passion?
