Imagine if we have to teach our kids “How to sleep hungry in the night “? Or imagine you sleeping on the roads without food and in to add you may be mentally or sexually harassed!
If not us, not our child or not our sibling then why some other child????? The children all over the world are being victims of sexual exploitation, trafficking, health hazards, employment .But this is harsh reality which we all have to change and change can happen together! I can’t bring it alone.
Before that I would like to tell you a bit about me … Born and brought up in a small town of India, came to Delhi the capital of India for my further studies. Being the younger one in the family was the pampered one and was without direction or focus …what I want to do in my life? Doing multiple and variety of things at professional level from event management to publishing to marketing …gave up all and started volunteering for an NGO as I was not being satisfied in any of the work I tried my hands on. That is where I started finding my happiness, focus and wanted to know more why there is so much difference between us (who are privileged) and between them! I saw street children in India, begging on the roads, over traffic signals. As soon as the signal will go green they would go back to corners and start playing with empty plastic bottles, tree barks, and old tyres. So basically our trash was their toys while on the other hand toys are one of the most essential part of the childhood.
That is how Lakshyam NGO came into existence, to provide toys to every child which was the basic thing of the childhood.
Today Lakshyam is an NGO working with child and women across India with the mission “Street to school”. Over the year more than 7 million lives have been impacted by us.
I started a decade ago with my passion by aligning 3 H of my being hand , heart & head & that is what Lakshyam logo & slogan stands for “ hands to heart”Filling our hand with love, & determination of mind to give back to society our world will be a better place to be. How many of us want to give back to society? Today or at some point of time? I think everyone it’s just that we don’t know how to start.
But How to start? The first thing is to take responsibility of your own little actions.
So here comes the chance to give back to society by taking accountability to your actions to create a equal space for all.
Be responsible in a way that your action should not have adverse effect on environment, animals & other fellow beings. Once this is ensured of course you can volunteer in a ngo, donate money or share your skill.

& we can change We all have 2 lives, and yes second starts when we realize we only have one.
So find out what is your purpose in life. What do you want to do in 1 wild life? & live your life with kindness & compassion & it will be a beautiful world.
I am living my second life, with a bigger vision and following little steps to put all the street children off the streets to the school in my country.
Where every women will have her say and life her life an EMPOWERED LIFE!
